Saw this second generation Toyota MR2 today in a local condo complex today. It looked to be in original condition and well taken care of. The only problem I saw was that the body trim between the taillights looked to be sticking out on the right side. It has a license plate frame from “The World Family of Dealerships” out of New Jersey. So that has me guessing someone traded this beauty in for a new car and the current owner purchased it from the dealership. Toyota should make a mid-engined sports car again!

looks like the right side of the trunk is misaligned, not unheard of cause the spring is on that side. They could have also had the trunk stuck in valet mode at some point and had to damage the rear centre garnish to drill into the trunk to unlatch it.

It’s either a 94/95 or they’ve gone to a fair amount of trouble to make it look like one. USDM 94/95 turbo’s are pretty rare. I think they sold less than 1000 in those two years.

Now that you mentioned it I do see the truck is misaligned. I have no confirmation if this is actually a real Turbo MR2. I didn’t talk to anyone or do any investigating (VIN Number, Actually looking)

A real second generation Toyota MR2 Turbo or not?

if I was a betting man I’d say it’s a legit 94 or 95 USDM turbo. The engine lid is a turbo version, and the tail lights, wheels, trunk lid and colour coded body strips point to 94/95.

the only non-usdm parts are the amber corner markers instead of red ones.

The only to know for sure would be to get a look inside the engine bay.

apart from the janky lights it looks like it’s been looked after. Looks like it’s in better condition than mine at the moment anyway :P

I kept seeing one on my backroads drive with what appeared to be and was a For Sale... So I stopped to check it out.

Asking 7k...
